Who we are: Our website address is: https://simplyasianhome.com/. This is a recipe blog and we use a few services to help us better our blog to improve its content, get user feedback and improve traffic to the blog.

While no online service is 100% secure, we depend on BlueHost, WordPress, WPZoom Recipe Card Blocks, Gravatar, RatingWidget, and MailPoet to format, organize and serve information to you. We also use Advertising networks to serve relevant advertising to you. We depend on these services to monitor the services it provides to us and the data we publish for potential vulnerabilities and attacks.

As a content publisher, we currently only collect email subscriber information to send our recipe posts. We allow our readers to rate recipes and share our content through social media.

The advertising networks and affiliates use are: Amazon Associates, Bluehost, Shareaholic, and Infolinks to automatically collect information using cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as pixel tags and web or browser caches) about our site’s visitors and their devices to serve more relevant ads to our readers. See below on how to opt-out of these cookies.

Shareaholics Social Media Sharing and Advertising Network: We use Shareaholics services to enable our users to share our content on their favorite social media sites. The information Infolinks may collect includes:

  • Browser and Device information, such as the device type and model, manufacturer, operating system type and version (e.g. iOS or Android), web browser type and version (e.g., Chrome or Safari), user-agent, carrier name, time zone, network connection type (e.g., Wi-Fi or cellular), IP address, general location inferred from IP address, information about our Publisher Client’s apps and versions currently active on a device (but not any other apps), and identifiers assigned to a device, such as its iOS Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), Android/Google Advertising ID (AAID or GAID), or other unique device identifier (typically an alphanumeric string allocated to a device by the device manufacturer, a Publisher Client’s Digital Property, or Infolinks, including identifiers stored in a cookie, or browser or web cache).
  • Information about an End User’s behavior on our Publisher Clients’ Digital Properties, such as information about the activities or actions on those Digital Properties, session start/stop time, and geolocation (including latitude and longitude coordinates, but only if the Publisher Client’s Digital Property (like an app) has enabled location services on the device and the End User has granted the Publisher Client permission to collect and share this information for advertising purposes).

Bluehost Affiliate Advertising: Simplyasianhome.com serves ads by Bluehost Hosting Services and receives payment for readers who click-through and sign up for Bluehost services. We do not retain our readers’ personal information associated with clicks on these ads. WordPress Publishing & Analytics Service: This website is published through a WordPress template and traffic is tracked through the JetPack Service. Automatic’s (WordPress & JetPack’s) Privacy Policy and data collection notice.

MailPoet Plugin: We use MailPoet forms to collect subscribers’ names and email address in order to email recipe postings directly to our readers. We do not share nor sell this subscriber list and MailPoet does not sell or share the list to third parties. Please read MailPoet’s Privacy Policy.

WPZoom Recipe Card Block plugin: We use WPZoom’s Recipe Card Blocks to publish our recipes. These card blocks do use JSON-LD Schema markup and is GDPR-compliant.

Ratings Service: We also use RatingWidget as a feedback mechanism for our visitors, providing them with an easy way to cast their opinion. The service is using cookies to avoid duplicate votes from the same device. Here’s a link to RatingWidget’s privacy policy. You can opt-out from their voter tracking cookies by clicking the Opt out button on their privacy page.

Blog Post Comments: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies: If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). How long we retain your data: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
