Steamed Black Bean Pork Ribs

Ever have a craving for dim sum pork ribs? If so, this steamed black bean pork ribs recipe is for you and it’s easy. Just marinate the pork ribs, top them with some black beans and red pepper and steam them!

This is a common dim sum dish that is very easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork riblet strips

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 3 tablespoons Shaoxing rice wine

  • 1 tablespoon fermented black beans

  • 1 red pepper

Directions

  • Chop strips of riblets between the bones into individual riblets and place in a bowl.
  • Add sugar, salt, cornstarch and rice wine. Mix well until all riblets are coated. Set aside and let marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Place a steamer rack inside wok to prepare to steam dish of riblets. Add water and heat wok on high heat to bring water to a boil. You can also use a steamer that will fit the plate you will be using.
  • Transfer riblets to a pyrex casserole dish or heat safe bowl. Spread out into a single layer. Sprinkle the fermented black beans on top of the riblets. Finely chop the red pepper and sprinkle on top of the riblets as well.
  • Place dish of riblets on steamer rack and let steam for 1 hour. Serve.

Notes

  • If you don’t have fermented black beans, you can also substitute black bean sauce. Just add the black bean sauce to the marinade instead of as a topper later.
